Avengers: Infinity War Passes $2 Billion Mark

It's only the fourth movie to ever achieve such a feat, joining 2009's Avatar, 1997's Titanic, and 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

So can Infinity War catch Force Awakens?

Much like Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne, Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye didn't feature in Avengers: Infinity War whatsoever, and it turns out the Russo Brothers never had any intention of including Marvel's wayward archer to begin with.

Infinity War has officially crossed the $2 billion mark at the global box office as of yesterday in its 48th day of release! Pic holds the record for biggest domestic debut ever with $257.7M in its opening weekend. The film opened to a massive $199.3M in China two weeks after the global debut and has gone on to become the third biggest release ever in the country with $369.7M to date. Infinity War posted opening weekend numbers of over Rs 120 crore.

He may not be the most powerful hero, but Iron Man is clearly the heart of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Infinity war ended on a cliffhanger when half of the universe was wiped off after Thanos did his infamous snap of the fingers.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Don Cheadle, Tom Holland, Chadwick Boseman, Paul Bettany, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Danai Gurira, Peter Dinklage, Benedict Wong, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin, and Chris Pratt.

2019 will also see the release of Captain Marvel and a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming and both films are expected to make close to $1 billion worldwide, according to a Forbes report. As of the writing of this story, Infinity War has grossed $2 billion worldwide.
