E3 2018: Death Stranding Adds Two More Celebs to Cast, Gameplay Revealed

It showed the various characters in Death Stranding traversing its environment.

At tonight's E3 press conference, Sony gave us an extended look at the game featuring some hints of gameplay which seem to just be... walking and delivering some packages? Death Stranding's gameplay showcased some stealth sections as Reedus tried to stay hidden from shadow creatures.

The current cast, as noted in the trailer, is Norman Reedus, Mads Mikkelsen, and introducing Lea Seydoux and Lindsay Wagner.

When Hideo Kojima left Konami and established his own indie studio, it was perhaps expected he would carry on the legacy of his Metal Gear series, especially with the studio's logo.

From legendary game creator Hideo Kojima comes an all new, genre defining experience for the PlayStation®4.

According to Kojima, Death Stranding's title refers to the term "cetacean stranding", or when a dolphin or whale strands themselves on a beach, leading to their death.

In the trailer, we see Norman Reedus' character carrying various objects across various terrains as well as wielding a variety of weapons. Check out the E3 2018 trailer for yourself and maybe you can figure out what the heck is going on. We're still not sure on this. We still don't have any sort of release date either, so we are probably looking at late 2019 for this game at the earliest. By the end of the gameplay trailer, it revealed another female character played by Sandy Wagner. Perhaps after this long, we were hoping for a lot more.

Death Stranding is in development for PS4 and PC. Hideo explains that for the objective of her role in the game, his studio went through the process of recreating Wagner's younger self from her recent 3D scan data.
