Arsenal are reportedly close to announcing the double signing of Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno and Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira.

Our new head coach has already completed the signing of Stephan Lichtsteiner on a free transfer from Juventus but he's expected to make several further additions as he looks to revamp the squad left behind by Arsene Wenger this summer.

The report claims that Arsenal will pay in the region of £48m to complete the two transfers.

The move for Leno, who would cost around £22 million and narrowly missed out on a place in the Germany World Cup squad, suggests that either Petr Cech or David Ospina will be sold.

The highly rated goalkeeper failed to get a call up in the Germany squad for this summer's World Cup in Russian Federation.

Leno has spent the past seven seasons at Leverkusen, making 233 appearances for the Bundesliga club.

According to Gazza Mercato, the newly appointed Arsenal boss has identified Banega as a top summer transfer target amid concerns over Jack Wilshere's future.
