You'll also be able to see how numerous pellets from a shot hit the target, which will be displayed by marks within the reticle, allowing you to see at a glance how effective your shot was. Epic has unveiled a new desert biome, giving you a break from the familiar luscious green pastures of the island.

"After firing a shotgun, another shotgun can not be fired for a very short time".

As seen below, the Fortnite Week 1 secret Battle Star location is to the west of Lazy Links, which is one of the new areas added in the 5.0 update. We don't yet know where those are, but we'll update this story once the new season has gone live. There's a lot to go over in the patch notes but some of the most notable new additions to the game will be the new All Terrain Kart (ATK) and Rifts that will be dotted around the battle royale map. The ATK also features a speed boost after drifting, the roof acting as a bounce pad and passengers in the back being able to help the driver leap over vehicles by leaning back and releasing. There are also some damage and bullet drop-off changes to the SMG.

In terms of changes to gameplay, the centre point of storm circles 7, 8, and 9 can now randomly shift to a new map location, meaning that the circle will start shrinking in a different direction rather than just closing in. Upon their completion, you will be rewarded with a new loading screen. You can now complete progressive challenges at your own pace. They're also now rewarded based on aquiring a fixed amount of XP, not based on your season level. For the Nintendo Switch, Epic games has also included motion controls which can be adjusted in the Settings menu.

There are some other more minor bug fixes and tweaks to the game, which can be read in full here.
