RYAN STRIKES: Paul Ryan Threatens to Hold LISA PAGE in CONTEMPT

Mueller removed Strzok from the investigation after he was made aware that the agent exchanged text messages critical of Trump with another FBI official, Lisa Page, with whom Strzok was allegedly having an affair.

Counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok worked on Special Council Robert Mueller's investigation of Trump's 2016 presidential campaign and allegations of collusion with Russian Federation until a year ago, when he was removed after text messages he exchanged with former FBI lawyer Lisa Page were revealed, showing their mutual contempt for Trump.

The two agents, who were having an extra marital affair, were members of special counsel Robert Mueller's Russian Federation investigation, which Trump routinely refers to as a 'witch hunt, ' and examining both Russia's role in the 2016 election along with being part of probe into Hillary Clinton's email server. "Together with her lover, FBI Agent Peter Strzok, she worked on the Rigged Witch Hunt, perhaps the most tainted and corrupt case EVER!"

Page was subpoenaed by the House Judiciary Committee for her voluntary testimony and had been scheduled to appear in a closed-door joint session with the House Judiciary and the House Oversight committees.

While Strzok was faulted for his political bias in an inspector general report on the Clinton investigation, his attorney has argued that the inspector general also found that the investigative decisions in that probe were unaffected.

Page's lawyer Amy Jeffress told CBS News' Paula Reid that she and Page on Tuesday went to the Federal Bureau of Investigation, her former employer, to review the materials that were sent to Congress, but they were not shown any documents after waiting more than three hours.

House Judiciary Chairman Robert Goodlatte and House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Trey Gowdy wrote Jeffress Wednesday evening demanding that Page either appear at the public hearing with Strzok on Thursday or for a private deposition Friday. "She has an obligation to come and testify".

Jeffress added that Page received word from the Justice Department only "after 11 pm" Tuesday that she would have access to the documents she needed for Wednesday's interview. What are you hiding, Miss Page?

"A subpoena to testify before Congress is not optional, it's mandatory", Ryan said. However, on Tuesday, Page showed signs of cold feet when her lawyer, Amy Jeffress, issued a statement complaining about Committee staff.

"This statement from Lisa Page's attorneys could've been better summed up in one short sentence: 'We're choosing to ignore a Congressional subpoena, '" he tweeted. Right?!' Page texted Strzok. Page had already left that investigation by the time that happened.
