Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, has often been seen in the Wimbledon royal box over the years with her husband, The Duke of Cambridge, and family members.

The sisters-in-law were seated together in the royal box, first watching the end of the Novak Djokovic vs. Rafael Nadal semifinal (which Djokovic won in five) and then Serena Williams taking on Angelique Kerber.

But before they could take their seats, the pair met with ball boys and girls, wheelchair competitors and junior players ahead of the day's play. This Saturday, Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton, a.k.a.

"I was really happy to get this far", Williams said after the match.

The royals, both 36, looked chic and summery in their respective ensembles for the matchup between Markle's pal Serena Williams and Angelique Kerber of Germany in the women's single final of the tournament.

Former world number one Williams is a seven-time Wimbledon champion and was hoping to win her first title at the tournament since becoming a mother.

Williams spoke about her "wonderful friendship" with Meghan following her match Thursday, when she defeated Julia Georges in straight sets to advance to Saturday's final. Every year, for a couple years, she comes out to Wimbledon, and has supported me. Now she's supporting me in a different role.
