Liverpool Make Official Bid For Roma Keeper Alisson

In a shorter transfer window this summer, the deadline closes on 9 August. Today, the latest on Liverpool and Chelsea's pursuit of Alisson Becker...

Liverpool have made an offer to sign Roma's Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson, for a reported £62m.

Alisson played five times for Brazil at the World Cup in Russian Federation where his side suffered a quarter-final defeat to Belgium.

Giallorossi leadership consider Donnarumma as their top target to replace the Brazilian, and the 19-year-old's agent, Mino Raiola, is familiar with the club having recently orchestrated Justin Kluivert's transfer to Rome.

Goal understands that the Roma brass would like to keep Alisson for next season, but would be willing to give the player his desired move away if they can have a replacement in place.

Chelsea and Real Madrid have also been rumoured to be interested in signing Alisson but the La Liga giants have reportedly pulled out of the race.

Sky sources have previously told us that Liverpool have no plans to bid for Alisson this summer.

Now playing for Copenhagen, Olsen's transfer to Roma could trigger a series of events that would see Alisson arrive in London, and current Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois leave for Real Madrid.

Chelsea were regarded as favourites to sign the Brazil global last week, but confusion over Thibaut Courtois' plans has opened the door to Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp ferrying him now to Merseyside.
