Microsoft Revealing New Xbox Hardware on August 21

We may see new Xbox hardware sooner than expected.

Gamescom in Germany is due to start on Tuesday, August 21 and as usual nearly every games company in the world will be there to show off their wares in both the public halls and the special press-only areas.

Xbox today launched what it's calling "the Ultimate Game Sale", offering savings of up to 65 percent on games, plus big savings on Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass subscriptions, Xbox One X consoles, accessories, and more. Instead we can look forward to the new bundles and accessories. After all, it was just last month at E3 2018 that Phil Spencer revealed that the Xbox team is hard at work making the next generation of Xbox-branded consoles.

The details: Microsoft gave a small preview of what to expect from its visit to this year's Gamescom, to be held in Germany in late August.

The new Elite Controller, according to a leak earlier this year, will allegedly replace the "dated" microUSB port with USB-C and will feature Bluetooth connectivity.

Like previous years, Microsoft will be present with its Xbox booth at which players will be able to try out the upcoming Forza Horizon 4, State of Decay 2's upcoming Daybreak Pack, and Ori and the Will of the Wisps.

Finally, Microsoft says that a new Xbox-exclusive mode for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds will be playable for the first time at Gamescom, so that'll definitely be something to keep an eye on. In 2017, the Xbox One X with upgraded specs and the ability to play games in 4K, debuted.
