Cam Newton confronts Kelvin Benjamin over remarks

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin said he was not "even trying to listen" to Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton during what appeared to be a tense pregame interaction Thursday before the teams' preseason opener. The receiver's numbers didn't improve after being thrown into a passing game that ranked 20th in the National Football League last season, finishing his first campaign with the Bills with 217 yards on 16 catches with one touchdown and two games missed with a torn meniscus. Anybody! QBs with knowledge, who know how to place a ball and give you a better chance to catch the ball.

Kelvin Benjamin just brushed off Cam Newton like a defensive back. leaving Cam hanging on a high five and exchanging heated words with the QB - and it's all on video.

When it became clear Benjamin wasn't over their squabbling, Newton ushered away a Bills player for privacy, but Benjamin walked away from the conversation. This was not one of them.

Panthers tight end Greg Olsen called Benjamin's barbs "weird", adding Sunday (via Panthers.com): "Things didn't work out here for him". It's pretty safe to say if Kelvin Benjamin makes it to free agency, a reunion with Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers is not going to happen.

"I just think Carolina was bad for me", Benjamin told The Athletic.
