Pochettino: Premier League clubs have 'disadvantage' in transfer market

"Last season I told you some numbers, but this season we don't know", Pochettino said before his side's final friendly of their United States tour against Milan.

"A lot of them have trained with us a few times, like Luke Amos and Anthony Georgiou".

"Nothing is going to actually prepare us for what we're going into but I'm sure when there's around 58,000 Spurs fans in there it's going to feel like home quickly enough". Milan tied Manchester United 1-1 and will play Barcelona on Saturday to finish its games.

Mauricio Pochettino has been hit by injuries to the likes of Wanyama and (cough, cough) Sissoko amongst others -but in typical spirit he has made light of this and looked for the positives. "It's the reality that happens and pushes us to take some decisions that doesn't help the team from the beginning [of the season] but we need to help some players because after the World Cup, they need a minimum 20 days to rest and stop thinking about football".

But Davies feels the squad's experience of adapting to Wembley, and the fact the club and supporters will be back in their own territory, will speed up the settling-in process. I think Daniel has been quite clear on this but we have always operated on a fairly prudent basis.

Tottenham ended its International Champions Cup tour on a high as Georges-Kevin N'Koudou's 47th-minute strike gave Spurs a 1-0 win over AC Milan.

'They showed they have the potential to one day be consistent in the first team. "They're great athletes, as well, and getting the opportunity to meet them was really fun".

"It's a game that the slightest mistake can flip everything, and it's such a big team sport the field is huge ... anyone can beat anyone that's what I love about the Premier League", said fan Steve Bertossi.

"First we need to assess them and see what happens", he admitted.

But even if Tottenham are unable to strengthen as much as they planned, Davies has faith in the existing group, which finished third in the Premier League last season. Maybe he's going to play before a senior player.

Pochettino added: "I am happy with the performance more than the result".
