Apple Introduces $749 6.1-inch iPhone Xr

This one will cost nearly $US1,100 (£843), topping last year's iPhone X, which at $US1,000 (£766) seemed jaw-dropping at the time. Made of surgical-grade stainless steel, these phones are offered in three finishes - gold, silver and space grey - and feature a new formulation of glass that's said to be the most durable ever in a smartphone. You can therefore take ECG readings yourself, which are stored in the Health app on your iPhone and could be useful by your doctor if there is anything wrong.

Apple iPhone XR The low-priced model iPhone XR sports a 6.1-inch LCD screen (with Liquid Retina Display) and is available in as many as six colour variants. From our experience, the iPhone 8 Plus can last longer than the iPhone X on a single charge, so the iPhone XR could be the best model for battery life.

The biggest news for most smartphone users was the announcement of the new phone's dual-Sim capability, meaning users will have access to two phone numbers on the same iPhone at the same time.

Although the new feature could certainly prove to be very useful for iPhone fans, it has not been officially confirmed by Apple.

But as with all of Apple's previous S models, it's all about the new specs.

The XS Max features the largest screen and battery that Apple has ever used for an iPhone, a landmark reflected by a £1,099 starting price, which rises to £1,449 for the 512GB storage version.

A third new iPhone XR has also been unveiled. The second camera is also 12 megapixels and it is a telephoto with an aperture of f / 2.4. The iPhone Xs Max will start at $1099. This feature is expected to come in India.
