Liverpool vs Tottenham: Rampent!? Fans aren’t having a bar of Redknapp

Liverpool face Tottenham on Saturday looking to keep up their 100 per cent record in this season's Premier League.

The Reds have won four from four so far this season, but have yet to come up against a team that has seriously challenged them.

But Jurgen Klopp's side were humbled 4-1 at Wembley last season when Harry Kane scored twice and Eriksen pulled the Spurs strings in midfield.

"I know that's very hard to do but if they could go into February, March, April without it, I think they could have a real chance [of winning the league] if they had free weeks."How would that work?"

Ahead of Spurs' match against Liverpool on Saturday, he was asked if there would be two challengers taking to the field.

"Gary should come over and tell me exactly how that would work", Klopp said.

The former right-back suggested that if the German wants to win the league, he should forget all about the Champions League. That's too complicated; you have to go into the next game and see who you can choose. His record in cup finals is simply very bad as he has now lost six out of his last seven major finals, including that painful 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in last season's Champions League final.

The Reds have picked an impressive 43 points from 28 games against Spurs, Manchester United, Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal.

"That's good, they had a normal break and then started pre-season with us, so they were the most stable players in the squad and that's why we used them".

"I don't know exactly what it means but to focus on one competition can only be if you're already out of the competition almost, or if it's late in the season and you see you have a chance to do that or this. We all have to make constantly the best of what we've got". He brings players in that suits the way Liverpool play.

"The thing is it is absolutely no problem".

"I don't like the situation; it's not that I like to say to Fabinho, who is full of energy and desire and wants to be involved, "you are not involved this weekend". That's not nice, it's only the job to do sometimes.

The summer transfer window and various tweaks at the back have seen Liverpool become the best defensive side in England over the last 10 months but one area of the game that the Reds fall short is in the dark arts department.
