Sarri wants Terry back at Chelsea in coaching role

Ahead of Saturday's Premier League tie against Cardiff City, Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri explained that he is "open to the idea" of Terry's surprise return.

"There was no particular desire to go somewhere after the World Cup", Kante told RMC Sport.

Eden Hazard's hat-trick for Chelsea against Cardiff has seen him join an exclusive club alongside Blues legends Frank Lampard, Didier Drogba and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

"The next logical step was to continue with Chelsea".

Luiz, who was a central figure during Chelsea's run to the Champions League in 2012, has been given a lifeline under Maurizio Sarri in the starting eleven after being left out for the majority of last season under Antonio Conte.

Asked which teams are in title contention, Sarri said: "At the moment I can answer City or Liverpool, at the moment".

"For sure he will be a point of reference for me, for everybody here [if he returned]". But while the West London club's impressive early season form spells good omens for the 59-year-old - they have won the title in five of the six times they have managed to win their first four league matches - he recently dismissed the club's chances of winning a third league trophy in five years.

They will be expected to make it five from five at Stamford Bridge on Saturday when Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas could be on the bench after recovering from a knee injury. So I know that the matches after the break are very, very hard.

"I don't know now the situation".

John Terry is Chelsea's most successful captain, leading the Blues to 14 major trophies.

'I think Man City will win the Premier League this season, with Liverpool just behind.

When and what time is the Premier League match between Chelsea vs Cardiff City? For everybody here, I think.

The Blues will absolutely want to make Sarri a ideal five-for-five in the Premier League, but the task could be more hard than many may anticipate.
