Meghan also revealed she hid another personal memento in the veil, her "something blue".

Markle was stepping out solo for the first time after getting married to Prince Harry, for the inauguration of the new Oceania art exhibit at the Royal Academy of Arts in London.

While mingling with other attendees, the then-newlywed Kate donned a vintage Amanda Wakeley gown.

Looking as if she has been a royal her entire life, the Duchess arrived at the Royal Academy of Arts for the Oceania exhibition in a black Givenchy dress and Aquazzura shoes.

Keeping jewellery to a minimum, Meghan opted for silver earrings that glittered through her gorgeous locks.

On Thursday, just a few days after the cookbook project was unveiled, Meghan hosted her first royal event at Kensington Palace to celebrate its launch.

Reportedly, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a special appearance in the new Queen Elizabeth II documentary, Queen of the World featured on HBO where she reveals the secret.

And the 37-year-old is taken aback by the wedding garment.

It's been reported that Meghan's ceremony dress, designed by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy, cost around US$440,000 (NZ$660,000).

On Monday, Harry and Meghan attended the Coach Core awards at Loughborough University, where they met with graduates from the programme.

The Duchess of Sussex said: "Somewhere in here there's a piece of blue fabric that's stitched inside - it was my something blue".

"I now have Samantha in Europe with just one short flight away".

Of the wedding, Serena said: "I felt like it was just really, we were literally watching history".

Attending a charity event yesterday with Prince Harry, the Duchess of Sussex not only broke down one of fashion's most taboo rules, but also nonchalantly played netball in stilettos.
