Dybala flourishes with hat trick in Ronaldo's absence

Dybala flourishes with hat trick in Ronaldo's absence

Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said Monday Cristiano Ronaldo's one-match Champions League suspension was a welcome break for the Portuguese star to recharge after playing all matches since his move to Turin.

"We, the players, can not do anything about that".

"I wanted to have a game like this", Dybala said, as quoted by Channel News Asia.

"We respect Lopetegui's decisions with regards to the goalkeeping position".

"I certainly have to develop a better understanding with Ronaldo but I think we work well together".

The second matchday of the UEFA Champions League group stage saw champions Real Madrid lose, Bayern Munich and Manchester United were held in disappointing displays while Juventus continued their ideal start to the season. He doubled the lead after the half hour when he was left with the easy task of tucking in the rebound from Blaise Matuidi's saved shot.

It was Young Boys's second defeat of the competition after they lost their opener 3-0 at home to Manchester United.

In Turin, Ancelotti's first trip to his former club got off to a promising start when Jose Callejon volleyed for Dries Mertens to open the scoring after ten minutes.

Dybala hit the inside of the post after the restart and although Young Boys then enjoyed another good spell, they were caught out again in the 69th minute.

"After our (Serie A) win over Napoli (on Saturday), there could have been a drop in motivation", said Allegri.

"Dybala had a great game".

Manchester United's bus got stuck in traffic - leading to a delayed kickoff against Valencia - and the team never got going on the field either in a tiresome 0-0 draw at Old Trafford. He progresses, he plays more, but we have a very large squad and I have to take advantage of all the qualities of this squad. Things would calm down for a while after that as Juve went into cruise control, but Dybala still wasn't done.

"Manchester United have great potential but still need to progress".
