Arrests made after Khabib beats McGregor

Arrests made after Khabib beats McGregor

They are withholding Khabib's purse, they are not withholding Conor's.

One fight begot another, begot another, begot another...

McGregor, making a comeback to the octagon after almost two years away, had looked unsafe in the early striking exchanges but as expected, Nurmagomedov quickly took the fight to the ground. Two years out of the MMA didn't do Conor McGregor any favours and he looked uncomfortable from the moment the bell sounded for round one.

McGregor simply didn't have an answer to Khabib's fine-tuned ground combat skills, being dominated and made to eat not only canvas but a serious barrage of punches and elbows.

"There wasn't an opportunity there as Khabib was still looking for a fight. They gave him his and they're keeping Khabib's".

The ugly scenes escalated and although Khabib was announced as the victor, UFC president Dana White refused to hand over the belt.

Having won the UFC Lightweight Championship at UFC 223 by defeating Al Iaquinta, standout Russian fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov will make his first UFC Lightweight Title defense tomorrow night at the T-Mobile Arena against the returning Conor McGregor. All the commotion resulted in the undisputed Lightweight Champion not being allowed to raise his belt at the end of the match, which is a shame as it was well deserved.

As noted, DC noted on Instagram that most of the work has been done and he knows for the fact that Khabib is more than ready for the biggest fight in UFC history.

U.S visa or not, we can definitely see Nurmagomedov and McGregor fighting again. Dana White watched it all unfold from cage-side but his night was only getting started.

White said that it would be now up to the Nevada State Athletic Commission to decide if Nurmagomedov would face further sanctions. But let's hope that it doesn't come to this and we see both fighters in the ring sometime in 2019.
