XXXTentacion's Mother Accepts His Award for Favorite Soul/R&B Album at AMAs

The 28-year-old pop singer won a record fourth artist of the year trophy at the fan-voted American Music Awards, beating rappers Drake and Post Malone, as well as Britain's Ed Sheeran and rock band Imagine Dragons for the top prize.

"Every single time this happens it represents encouragement and motivation for me to be better, work harder, and try and make you guys proud", said Swift in her acceptance speech. Kane Brown swept the country categories with three wins, including male artist, album and song. The gospel production featured Gladys Knight, Ledisi, Mary Mary, Donnie McClurkin and CeCe Winans.

Both enjoyed a successful evening at the AMAs, with Cardi winning the awards for Favorite Artist - Rap/Hip-Hop and Favorite Song - Rap/Hip-Hop for Bodack Yellow.

Late rapper, XXXTentacion, who was shot and killed in June aged 20, won a posthumous award.
