Unai Emery puts Aaron Ramsey's Arsenal future on hold

Unai Emery puts Aaron Ramsey's Arsenal future on hold

After returning from Lisbon, Emery will take his side to Crystal Palace the following Sunday - but the Arsenal head coach believes it is the prerogative of the rights holders to determine when his team play.

Ramsey revealed during the worldwide break he plans to stay at Arsenal for the rest of this season and not make a cut-price January move after the collapse of contract talks.

"For the moment I am very happy of course for the club because I am an ambassador for Arsenal but especially for Unai Emery because he's a great manager", he told reporters (via the Express) while attending the 2nd Teqball World Cup in Reims.

"I want the mentality for the next match".

"My focus is every single match". The football, the future is tomorrow.

Supporters belted out the refrain during the second-half of a 5-1 Premier League victory at Fulham ahead of the worldwide break, with the visitors playing some scintillating football. For example, in the last match he started on the bench, then he played 25 minutes with this [good] performance.

'You can't do that with play and rest, play and we can't do that without changing players.

The 29-year-old missed Arsenal's win over Fulham due to a back spasm.

Wenger said this week Ozil's retirement from Germany's national team could demotivate the midfielder, but Emery reiterated his demands are the same for his entire squad. "Individual things are not for me to speak about now".

The England worldwide added: "I think you've got to look at the situation and ask: 'How many top teams in the Premier League and elsewhere could he get in?'"

"The same with Mesut as any other player". The supporters can enjoy it with us but also we're speaking with our reality every day.

That run has helped Arsenal move to within two points of the Premier League summit - but Emery does not want to get carried away just yet. "We want to continue doing our way with different possibilities tactically and with the players, but if we need [to play] a lot of matches with the players, we can do that".
