West Ham United v Tottenham Hotspur

Manuel Pellegrini says he's proud of West Ham's performance against Tottenham, but not the result.

Arthur Masuaku is expected to overcome an ankle problem, while striker Javier Hernandez could return after a five-match absence with a virus.

But speaking after Saturday's 1-0 victory at West Ham, Pochettino said: "In football you always need to think you can improve, and you need to try to improve your squad".

Dele Alli, Danny Rose and Jan Vertonghen all remain out. They had a four-match winless streak in 2015-16 and a seven-match winless run in 2016-17, starting on October 15. Now we have a chance to add more.

Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen has returned to the squad for Saturday's Premier League trip to lowly West Ham United after recovering from a stomach injury, manager Mauricio Pochettino said on Thursday.

"I think we were very unlucky not to take something from Brighton, but if you don't score the chances you have you normally lose the game".

"The most important thing is when you feel the trust and confidence", Pochettino said.

"We have no regrets, we are happy". "But we keep fighting and we are very close to the top of the table".

This will be a tough game for Tottenham.

Tottenham travel to West Ham on Saturday just two points off the top of the Premier League table, but their overall form has been mixed and their 1-0 home win over bottom side Cardiff before the worldwide break was unconvincing.

Spurs went in to the global break off the back of a 1-0 victory over Cardiff City that made it three league wins on the spin to leave the north Londoners level on points with fourth-placed Arsenal after the opening eight games of the new season. To date, he's lost on 51 occasions (22.3%) with his side registering 440 goals (1.92 per game) and conceding 239 (one every 86.6 minutes).

The Argentine stressed the importance of shot-stopper Hugo Lloris in goal during a hard second half for Tottenham when their club captain's heroics earned them the three points against West Ham.

Marko Arnautovic has scored three goals in his last four games at the London Stadium.
