OnePlus Partners With T-Mobile on New 6T Smartphone

OnePlus has launched the OnePlus 6T in India. The OnePlus 6T is the successor of OnePlus 6 and will be launched at an event in NY.

But the OnePlus alliance announced at an event on Monday in NY, shows how many US-China business relationships, including those involving the most advanced technologies, are marching ahead despite the escalating US-China trade war. The OnePlus 6T has a 6.41 inch display while the OnePlus 6 has a 6.28 inch display. For those unaware, it's not the first time when the company has launched a "T" variant of the phone. OnePlus, probably with the help of the parent company BBK suppliers and Co, has managed to shrink the notch to a minimum. T-Mobile is also offering a $300 trade-in on other devices when users opt for OnePlus 6T.

The new phone also has a larger 3700 mAh battery. For example, the fingerprint sensor in the display.

The display size has been increased by 2 per cent over the OnePlus 6.

Like the Huawei Mate20 Pro, the new OnePlus 6T has a fingerprint sensor built into the screen - removing the need for a home button and a fingerprint sensor on the back. OnePlus claims they've started testing the technology on the OnePlus 5T previous year, but they waited for it to be in the best possible shape before putting them into their devices.

Another welcome addition is a 3700mAh battery, which is a 23% bump over the 3300mAh on the predecessor.

Carphone Warehouse is also selling the OnePlus 6T on contract or SIM-free, and Amazon or John Lewis will both have the phone available to buy outright. OnePlus has monkey-wrenched a sheet of Gorilla Glass 6 onto the screen, potentially making it harder to shatter than usual. The 3.5-mm headphone jack is gone, though OnePlus puts a USB-C-to-minijack adapter in the box. Additionally, they also received RM 200 rebate for OnePlus Bullets wireless headphones.

The camera specs aren't too dissimilar from the 6's either - the snappers are 16mp and 20mp.

OnePlus said it improved the software side of the camera, so you can expect better HDR images from the rear main camera, and it gets the new Nightscape feature, which should give you better low-light images.

And the Chinese tech giant emphasised the new feature would be coming to the OnePlus 6 "later this week".

Although the Shenzhen-based manufacture was eager to detail the new improvement for the OnePlus 6, its hardware event was focused on the announcement of its successor.

The OnePlus 6T comes in "Mirror Black" and "Midnight Black" finishes and will be available starting 1st November in Europe and the US.
