While it affects phones somewhat sporadically, problems with the Pixel's 3 RAM management can cause apps to close unexpectedly in the background, or sometimes even shut down right in the middle of being used. In other words, the issue was actually hindering performance... and yet you'd have to multiply that by an order of magnitude before it would even approach what many Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL users are experiencing. You get the same camera sensor, the ability to squeeze the phone to activate the Google Assistant, the same processor, and more. According to Google, we should expect it "in the coming weeks". That was fixed via a software update in late October. For now at least, you'll need a Pixel 3 or 3 XL to take full advantage of the history feature. In an email sent to Google news blog 9to5Google, a Google spokesperson confirmed that the company is aware of the issue and is working to fix it.

Switching between the regular 8-MP lens and the wide-angle version (and its smaller f/2.2 aperture) is as simple as pressing an on-screen minus button, as if you're zooming out (which, essentially, you are, only with a different lens).




"Just tap on 'Screen call" to find out who's calling and why, as well as other information (as prompted by you). The feature makes it easy to identify songs that are playing near you. This is Google's nod toward helping you get a handle on how much you're staring at your smartphone screen, with several tools aimed at getting you to use your phone less and less.

Pixel users in the USA will also be the first to get access to an experimental new Google Assistant feature, powered by Duplex technology, which helps users complete real-world tasks over the phone, like calling a restaurant to book a table.
