He’s golden: Jackie Bradley Jr. becomes first Gamecock to win Gold Glove

If Markakis had received the offer and signed with another team for $50 million or more, the Braves would have been awarded a pick between the first round and competitive balance Round A of the 2019 draft.

Major League Baseball announced its annual Gold Glove Award winners on Sunday night, but those who were watching one of the most highly-anticipated NFL games of the season may not have paid any attention.

D-backs ace Zack Greinke earned his fifth consecutive Gold Glove - his third with Arizona - after beating San Diego's Clayton Richard and Atlanta's Julio Teheran.

The 2018 Gold Glove Award is the third of LeMahieu's career, as he was also the National League recipient at second base in 2014 and in 2017.

"I want to give thanks to God for blessing me every day, my family and my coach Pedro Grifol", Perez said.

Astros players Alex Bregman and Martin Maldonado were also finalists for Gold Glove Awards.

With the win, Greinke ties Ron Guidry, Phil Niekro and Kenny Rogers for seventh all-time among pitchers to win the award.

Arenado led National League third basemen in total chances (430), putouts (104), assists (312), double plays (44), defensive runs above average (8.1) and total zone fielding runs above average (16) while ranking second in fielding percentage (.967) and third in zone rating (.794).

Along with votes cast by NL managers and players, the winners were determined with the help of defensive metrics.

By winning a Gold Glove, Keuchel is now eligible for the Rawlings Platinum Glove, which will be given to the top defender in each league, regardless of position. Voting opens at 9 p.m. CT on November 4th and will end at 9 p.m. CT on November 8th.
