Ted Cruz Meets Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Gets Roasted

Ted Cruz Meets Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Gets Roasted

Cruz, who has made no secret about wanting to run for president again once Trump leaves office, even gleefully tweeted national polls showing O'Rourke cracking the top 10 among potential Democratic White House hopefuls in 2020, arguing they show how liberal he is.

Polling showed Cruz - vying for his second term - consistently ahead, but by single digits.

First, Triumph visited the O'Rourke camp, where he mocked the candidate's attempt at punk music in the 1990s. He also distributes stickers to voters with slogans like "I'm pretty sure I voted" and "I think I voted".

"Does it concern you that half your base thinks they can vote for you through Instagram?" he asked.

O'Rourke had reminded voters of Cruz's original Trump moniker - "Lyin' Ted" - when the candidates last faced off against each other in late October. Triumph asks Beto O'Rourke before adding, "besides the ability to regenerate your tail?"

'Let's be civil here, OK, because this man - nobody should be yelling at this man in a public place, ' Triumph said.

But Triumph seemed ready for the remark and hit Cruz with one parting shot. "Because he's a ugly fish monster!"

People have compared Cruz to the Zodiac killer, which Triumph called unfair, "since his plan to end Obamacare would kill way more people - I mean way, way, way, way more people!" Given that Conan O'Brien's TBS show "Conan" is on hiatus, Colbert explains at the start of the segment above, O'Brien was happy to loan one of his correspondents, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, to Colbert.

Cruz tried to counter the dog puppet by saying Democrats were responsible for him being snipped.

"Ted, I have a pre-existing condition that makes me vomit out of my eyes whenever I see you", Triumph shouts from the back of the room during the Cruz rally. Early voting in the state's 30 largest counties alone already exceeded the total number of ballots cast during the 2014 midterm elections in Texas.
