Target & Walmart release Black Friday ads for holiday shoppers

Target & Walmart release Black Friday ads for holiday shoppers

The official Walmart Black Friday ad scan is here, and it points to excellent tech that will go on sale, with most "rollback prices" happening on Wednesday, November 21 at 10pm ET.

Earlier this month, Target revealed some of its Black Friday promotions, including roving associates with portable checkout scanners who can help customers skip long checkout lines.

Target is also offering "drive up" on Black Friday and a 20% off future purchase coupon if you spend $50 or more online or in-store on Friday, November 23.

The frenzy shows the rules are changing as retailers prepare to battle for what could be the strongest holiday period in years - fuelled by robust consumer confidence and low unemployment.

Online department store Takealot, which is notorious for bulking under the heavy weight of traffic on Black Friday every year, says it's beefing up its servers so shoppers don't miss out on the thousands of deals it has with discounts of up to 60%. However, the retailer has already started the push with a slew of deals on its website. Those deals include an RCA 65-inch Class 4K Ultra HD LED TV for $399, marked down from $899. The leaked $199 Sony PS4 Slim 1TB Spider-man Bundle is also on the cover.

Walmart may not be the first place you think of when it comes to buy a new computer, but the retailing giant always manages to have a few deals on systems when Black Friday rolls around - and this year is no exception.

Really, there are hundreds of deals Walmart is planning for November 21, and it all begins hours before Thanksgiving.
