CNN's Jim Acosta trolls Trump with tweet from Paris

CNN's Jim Acosta trolls Trump with tweet from Paris

Trump went off on Acosta following a reporter's question about how much longer Acosta would be without a "hard pass" giving him speedy entry to the White House grounds. "Honestly, I think you should let me run the country, you run CNN", Trump shot back.

On Friday, President Trump threatened to yank more press passes and called April Ryan a "loser" who "doesn't know what the hell she is doing".

"He gets paid to do this", Mr. Trump said.

"I do think, Anderson, that this is a test for all of us", he said. "This is a very special place", Trump said.

He then doubled down on his criticism of Acosta, known for his combative encounters with White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and the president.

Trump also cast doubt on the stated rationale for stripping Acosta's credential.

In reaching this conclusion, Storyful compared the video Sanders tweeted to original footage from USA political broadcaster C-SPAN. The video proved otherwise. Acosta called the claim a "lie". "I don't hold him for that because it wasn't overly, you know, horrible". "When you're in the White House, this is a very sacred place to me", Trump insisted.

But even as the entire left seized on this claim (see what I did there), there were other experts who came to different conclusions.

None of this means that the White House is justified in removing Acosta's pass. Other outlets and reporters in the room deserve opportunities to ask their questions too. "Surely", he wrote, "we must realize that if it works with CNN, this will just be the first time, and not the last".

Nevertheless, as a result of his actions, Jim's credentials and permission to attend White House conferences has officially been revoked - for now. But in effect, the White House is trying to veto Acosta.

That statement was contradicted by witnesses and video that showed an intern trying to grab a mic from his hand as he pulled it away from her, saying, "Pardon me, ma'am".

Ryan took the high road on Twitter and also responded to Abby Phillip, who tweeted about Trump's comments.

She asked one of the day's key questions about newly appointed acting attorney general Matt Whitaker: "Do you want him to rein in Robert Mueller?". "It's a group of migrants moving up from Central America towards the border with the U.S.", Acosta said on Wednesday, pushing his own personal opinion and not exactly asking a "question" of the president. "The video is clear, he did", the statement said. He's also had unkind things to say about women and people who are African-American. She said on the network that the three presidents she covered prior to Trump may not have liked every question she asked, but understood why she did so.
