Dez Bryant Fears Torn Achilles After Injury at Saints Practice

The Saints fear their new receiver could be dealing with a torn achilles and is getting an MRI exam, according to an NFL Network report. However, during practice on Friday, Bryant went down with a what was initially reported as just a "lower leg injury".

Bryant joined the Saints this week after a long stint as a free agent.

Bryant acknowledged the setback in a tweet on Friday afternoon, writing: "This is the ultimate test".

Bryant's first practice came on Thursday and he admitted that he used most of that session to knock some of the rust off.

Payton said, via multiple reporters, that Bryant is about five pounds heavier than the team would like, but that's something they consider normal and that they liked what they saw in this week's workout.

Dez Bryant spent training camp, preseason and more than half of the National Football League regular season waiting for a team to give him a shot to prove himself.

Bryant agreed to a one-year, $600,000 contract on Wednesday and was participating in his second practice when he was injured. It's up to them to help get him the Super Bowl ring he signed with New Orleans for.

This is a developing story.
