Kyrie Irving calls BS on Jamal Murray’s late shot at 50 points

Murray's buckets led the way to Denver's best start through ten games in franchise history. The move, however, left Kyrie Irving nonplussed and the Boston Celtics point guard fired the ball into the stands after Murray's shot had missed the target.

That accomplishment was not without controversy, though, as Irving took exception to Murray's attempt at a deep 3-pointer as time expired when the outcome of the game already was certain. I didn't mean no disrespect. "I understand if we fouled him and he was going to the free throw line ... He did it in a great fashion against us", Irving said of Murray's offensive show. Our defence has to be better, especially against a player like that. "But the ball deserves to go in the crowd after a bullshit move like that".

"I think my emotions took over, as it normally does when I get going like that", said Murray "No disrespect to the Boston organization and fans with the last shot". I just had it in my mind I was going for 50. No disrespect meant, he maintained. Before the season began, I thought Denver would be a very good team, but I didn't think they would be this good off the bat.

Warriors 117, Grizzlies 101: OAKLAND, Calif. - Klay Thompson scored 27 points, Kevin Durant added 22 points, six rebounds and six assists, and Golden State ran its winning streak to eight games by beating Memphis. Obviously when it's a seven-point game or a five-point game or even a nine-point game, for us as a team, in a possession-to-possession game like that, we have so many plays we can go to and we don't need to dominate that with the 3-point shot.

"I don't think so". My emotions just took over like it did with the Lakers previous year. You just don't. There's a tradition and a respect within the league, as well as in any basketball game.

"It's just, you've seen guys throughout the league, I believe there was an incident in IN when Lance Stephenson took a layup at the end where they were playing against's just experiences that everyone has".

But while Murray was in Irving's cross hairs, the Boston guard was probably more frustrated with his team's effort on Monday night. I wouldn't worry about the Boston Celtics offense.
