New 'Game of Thrones' Teaser Promises Icy Battle

The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones will premiere in April of 2019. Watch the first teaser below.

The Game of Thrones season eight trailer has finally dropped and fans could not be more excited. The above video is bittersweet in a way because it's a sign that we are actually getting closer to the release of Season 8, however, absent from the video is any actual footage from the show's upcoming swan song.

The hit HBO series debuted the teaser during the 2018 Comic Con Experience in Brazil on Thursday (December 6). In the season finale past year, the Night King rode on the undead dragon Viserion as he broke down a section of the wall with the White Walker army marching down south. Meanwhile, a Lannister lion - backed by fire - spreads its flames northward, until the opposing forces meet in a violent clash. "It's an incredibly emotional haunting bittersweet final season and I think it honors very much what [author George R.R. Martin] set out to do - which is flipping this kind of story on its head".

Renfro wonders if the two converging is representative of what happens when a wight-dragon fights a regular dragon. There, they premiered a new handsome teaser for the final season.

As per the official Game of Thrones script, the seventh season somehow revealed Tyrion's true feelings for Daenerys.
