De Jong focused on Ajax despite PSG rumours - Ten Hag

His future has been the subject of much speculation, with the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona all said to be keen the youngster.

De Jong, who was a target for Barca, says his focused on finishing the season well but he is unsure if he will stay another year at Ajax. He added: "Frenkie is guaranteed to stay with Ajax until the summer and I cannot say anything about it".

But for now it's all eyes on De Jong - who is expected to make his £67million move to one of Europe's giants in the summer.

De Jong has been capped five times by the Netherlands and played a key role in their Nations League campaign where they next face England in June 2019.

Barcelona are believed to view De Jong as the long-term successor to Sergio Busquets, as the pair share a similar skill set.

De Telegraaf reports that PSG officials Antero Henrique and Maxwell flew into Amsterdam on Thursday for talks with Ajax and came away with a deal "almost certain".

"It would be great for Ajax, a huge compliment", the 48-year-old stated.

But in an interview with The Guardian, de Jong said it isn't a given that he will move on next summer.

"The rumours appeared again today and I'm sure it will stay like this for a while, but I think we're handling it well". However, with numerous side's interested in De Jong's signature, this certainly has the potential to develop into an incredibly eventful transfer saga. When you watch that, you get the feeling you want to go out on the pitch and play football with your friends and just enjoy yourself. Honestly, he is very welcome in Paris!

"Each player must personally make his choice".
