Former Hearthstone developers are working on a new Marvel game

For more on Hearthstone, check out our review of the game, which we called "Amazing" saying, "The elegant simplicity of Hearthstone's rules, its impressive attention to detail and personality, and the true viability of playing completely for free make it easy to fall under its spell and get blissfully lost in the depths of its strategic possibilities".

"In all likelihood, this will be the best game ever made", Second Dinner CEO Hamilton Chu jokingly added. Since then, their team has been busy prototyping a new game. Again, like Hearthstone. Oh, also, Second Dinner has a ton of cash, thanks to a $30 million minority investment from Chinese tech and gaming giant NetEase. Today, the studio has finally what it's working on: a Marvel game. Even though we likely won't know for quite some time what they are creating or what platforms it will be for, it's always exciting to hear that more Marvel video games are in the pipeline. "With the resources and creative freedom they now have, we look forward to what they will come up with next". Some sort of Marvel-based card game is a reasonable bet, as everyone on the founding team-Brode, Chu, Mike Schweitzer, Yong Woo, and Jomaro Kindred-were all senior Hearthstone developers prior to teaming up for Second Dinner. Second Dinner has managed to acquire the Marvel license for its first game. "I made a spreadsheet so I'm pretty sure". Marvel Games Executive Vice President Jay Ong said that Brode and Chu are "exactly who we want making Marvel games". Second Dinner is still expanding, but it already has a prototype and playtesting going on for whatever the game will be.

The developer is currently looking at taking on more staff, with openings now available for a full-time client engineer and technical artist.
