Alien: Blackout, The Follow-Up To Alien: Isolation Has Officially Been Announced

As for the game's place in the larger Alien franchise, the story of the mobile title will fit between the Alien and Aliens and will feature Amanda, the daughter of Ellen Ripley.

If you're looking for something more action-packed from your Alien game, Cold Iron Studios has a shooter of some sort in development.

Set aboard a Weyland-Yutani space station stalked by one of HR Giger's iconic monsters, Alien: Blackout sees you making choices to outwit the unrelenting Xenomorph, as it hunts you and the vessel's crew.

Alien: Blackout has now been fully revealed to be a Teen-rated mobile game after several teasers led up to the announcement.

Aliens fans, we've got some good and some bad news.

So we'll have to wait for more details of the game to be released.

Except that the official Alien Twitter account has started teasing something that stars Amanda Ripley and involves uncovering the secrets "left behind" by the crew of the Nostromo in the original film. Outsmart the ideal hunter by making perilous choices. The in-game map - through which the player tracks systems, crewmembers, and motion-tracker blips - bears uncanny resemblance to that of the earlier game, as does the overall goal of the game. Players must rely on the damaged controls of the space station or risk sacrificing crew members to avoid deadly contact, permanently altering the outcome of the game. "The uncertainty and unpredictability of both the alien and her crew can impose total defeat for Amanda and the entire station".

Survive or Die Using only the space station's limited power supply to operate a holographic map, surveillance cameras, and motion tracker, attempt to remain hidden and protect your crew from the flawless hunter in seven fear-inducing levels. In Blackout, Amanda once again finds herself on a Weyland-Yutani space station infested with aliens and must fight to survive.
