Kevin Hart Apologizes Again for Past Gay Jokes

It gets no more energy. When host Michael Strahan asked if he would return to host the Oscars if asked, the comedian responded with a strong denial. Last week Hart appeared on the Ellen Degeneres show and found a sympathetic host. "I'm over that, I'm over the moment", Hard added saying that he had apologized multiple times roughly 10 years ago when the homophobic comments and jokes first happened.

"The Academy, they're awesome people", he added. He said, "Whether I like it or not, whether you like it or not, that is his right. In the future, if it does, it does".

Kevin Hart is moving on from the Oscars controversy, whether people like it or not.

Strahan pushed Hart to offer more of a response beyond "I'm over it" and "I'm done with it", but he was met with more of the same.

In one of his 10-year-old tweets, Hart used a gay slur, and he also said he wouldn't want his son to be gay during an old stand-up routine. I didn't say these words to people, at the time, this was our dumb asses on Twitter going back and forth with each other. "There's no more conversation about it". I'm talking about today. So if it's accepted, great, but if it's not, it's nothing I can control. "I'm over it. That's where I personally am". "I've done it. You will not hear me saying anything else about it". I'm not giving no more explanation.

Speaking to TMZ earlier this week, Hart, who notably stepped down from the gig after past homophobic comments resurfaced, alluded to the fact that there is a chance, regardless of how slim it is, that he will be stepping onto the stage at the Dolby Theater for the biggest awards show of the year. "No, they weren't "haters" who came after you". "If that 7 minutes monologue is not perfection and epic, then I'll read in the morning, 'This is what we waited for?'" "If it's not, there's nothing I can do".

DeGeneres - a past Oscars host herself - said she called the Academy and asked them to reconsider having Hart host.

On Tuesday, he made a frustrated apology on his radio show where he said: 'Once again, Kevin Hart apologizes for his remarks that hurt members of the LGBTQ community.

"We thought it was okay to talk like that [in the past], because that's how we talked to one another", Hart explained. In that, you go, f-! This is wrong now. "I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past".

However, he has now ruled that out, telling Good Morning America he doesn't have time. "If anybody out there wants to believe that Kevin Hart is that much of a monster that he wouldn't love somebody due to their choice in life, then all power to them", he replied. "So now he should be able to come back on his own terms".
