Something 'Fantastic' is heading to Marvel's Spider-Man

Marvel has started acknowledging the Fantastic Four again and they're being inserted into a host of mobile games and Sony's PS4 smash.

As part of its Fantastic Four Week celebrations, Marvel Games announced that the team of heroes is coming to its various games. I can't tell you anything more right now, but you'll want to keep an eye out for this.

The game already features a number of Easter eggs from the rest of the Marvel universe, from the Wakanda embassy to Doctor Strange's house, but no references to the Fantastic Four.

At first that seemed to be all that was happening, but then a second tweet revealed that Marvel's Spider-Man on PlayStation 4 would also be getting new content.

Still, if those costumes include the glorious bag-headed variation that Spidey was forced to wear when he didn't have access to his own spider-duds, we'll be happy - and an appearance by his glorious white-and-black "Future Foundation" costume above wouldn't go astray, either.

Spider-Man's DLC slate has ended, too, so it's safe to assume we're probably looking at a new suit.

So, with that idea in mind, we consulted IGN's Senior Comics Editor Joshua Yehl for his best guesses.

The most recent batch of DLC for Marvel's Spider-Man was the City Never Sleeps story expansion which pitted Spider-Man against Hammerhead and the Maggia crime family.

"Spider-Man has a long history with the Fantastic Four and even served as a member on more than one occasion". Fantastic, Human Torch, The Thing, and the Invisible Woman, in several of Marvel's video games such as Contest of Champions, Puzzle Quest, Strike Force, and Future Fight.
