The Academy looking to assemble The Avengers as Oscars hosts

The Academy looking to assemble The Avengers as Oscars hosts

The upcoming 91st Academy Awards will have no host this year-the first time in 30 years-according to a report. The show will also "focus on starry skits and play up a high-profile year for music in film, thanks to likely nominees Lady Gaga, Dolly Parton, and Kendrick Lamar".

A few days after his old tweets went viral, Hart claims the Academy asked that he apologize.

"I'm not hosting the Oscars this year", said Hart.

Variety have reported that a number of top stars are expected to introduce different sections of the show instead. Ellen tried to encourage him to return, even calling the Academy to reinstate Hart. "It's a choice that I've personally made to say I'm not addressing it anymore".

It resulted in one particular segment that featured Rob Lowe singing "Proud Mary" with Snow White (?!?!?!?!), and essentially ruined the career of the producer (Allan Carr - the guy who produced Grease) of the ceremony.

It's said that the show's producers are now working overtime to try and sign up as many big-name Marvel stars as possible and that several cast members were asked not to present at the Golden Globes in order to make their appearances at the Oscars that little bit more special.

This year-for the first time since that handsome, glittering vehicle crash three decades ago-the Oscars will not have a host.

The Hollywood Reporter has the update on the Academy's plan to proceed without a host for the 2019 Oscars ceremony that will be broadcast on Sunday, February 24.
