Man who allegedly shot cop ranted about 'ultra sonic waves'

The Sacramento Bee reports that court documents show Limbaugh was charged and convicted in a battery case and he agreed in November to surrender a semiautomatic rifle.

Fallen Davis Police Officer Natalie Corona is seen in an undated photo shared by Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva on January 11, 2019.

The note left by Kevin Douglas Limbaugh of Davis, Calif., was released after Davis police identified the 48-year-old as the man who fatally shot Corona during the officer's response to a auto collision Thursday night.

"She was a rising star in the department", Davis police Chief Darren Pytel said in a news conference late Thursday.

The man who killed Officer Natalie Corona in an "ambush"-style attack left a note in the apartment where he killed himself, claiming that police had targeted him with "ultra sonic waves meant to keep dogs from barking".

48-year-old Limbaugh is the man police say killed officer Natalie Corona. The daughter of a retired Colusa County sheriff's deputy, she finished her training in December and had been on the job for a few weeks.

They went on to issue sympathies for officer Coronas family saying her death was an "incredible, senseless tragedy". At 1 am a robot was sent in to search the home and found Limbaugh dead from a self inflicted gunshot wound.

The memorial service for slain Davis Police Officer Natalie Corona will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Activities and Recreation Center, or ARC, on the campus of UC Davis.

Pytel said that after shooting Corona, the gunman reloaded and began shooting in another direction, hitting a firetruck, a house, a bus and a backpack being worn by a person. "She just worked like you can't believe".

Hundreds of people attended a Saturday night vigil for the rookie cop, who had been on the force for less than a year. "I did my best to appease them, but they have continued for years and I can't live this way anymore". At 10 pm Thursday night they arrived at the home.

Inside the suspects Davis home, detectives also found two semi-automatic handguns, a 9 mm and a.45-caliber, one partially hidden in a shoe.
