Wisconsin teen Jayme Closs reunites with aunt after rescue

"It has been unreal for the community, we've went from extreme fear for both Jayme and her family and for everyone in the community to now just elation". He said Jayme told Federal Bureau of Investigation agents she didn't know him at all.

A Facebook page called "Healing for Jayme Closs" has been set up where her family will provide updates on her condition.

Patterson, who is unemployed with no criminal record, was scheduled for an initial court appearance on Monday when homicide and kidnapping charges are expected to be filed.

Jayme's parents James and Denise Closs were found shot dead on October 15 at their home in Barron, Wisconsin. The only link between them is that Jake worked for a single day at the Jennie-O turkey plant where Jayme's parents were employed for 27 years.

Authorities believe Patterson went to the Closs home intending to kidnap Jayme.

She was released from the hospital Friday and was reunited with her aunt in Barron, Wisconsin, and her dog, Molly.

"She said that this person's name was Jake Patterson, 'he killed my parents and took me,"' said another neighbor, Kristin Kasinskas.

Fitzgerald said Friday that authorities do not know how Patterson became aware of Closs, as he reportedly never had contact with her family. But the sheriff said it did not appear Patterson interacted with the couple.

Detectives believe Closs was held by suspected abductor, Jake Thomas Petterson, 21, in a rural cabin near where she was spotted, and about 60 miles from her family home in Barron.

Another Aunt, Sue Allard, said she could barely express her joy after learning the news.

The girl had been missing since her parents, James and Denise Closs, were found shot to death on October 15 at the family's home near Barron. The killing of Jayme's family and her own disappearance had been a major subject of news and attention in the area. She said his parents moved away but the suspect and his brothers continued to use the home.

"She [Closs] just yelled, 'Please help me, I don't know where I am".

Barron County Sheriff Chris Fitzgerald said investigators are trying to figure out what happened to Jayme during her captivity and why she was seized.

He added: 'She did not talk about why or how. "I'm glad my dog wanted to go for a walk and we did and there she was".

"The million-dollar question is why", Fitzgerald said Saturday.

Authorities have said they don't believe Patterson crossed paths with Jayme's parents there.

"Well, right now we're looking for 88 days of evidence", Fitzgerald said.

Patterson remained largely an enigma om Saturday. They say they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the case. Shortly after the 911 call, a sheriff's patrol sergeant found the vehicle, pulled it over and took Patterson into custody, Douglas County Sheriff Tom Dalbec said. Her abduction led to a search that ended Thursday when she was found alive - and Patterson was arrested - about 70 miles from her home.

It had been almost three months since she went missing from her home in Barron, where her parents were found dead.

Smart said in an interview that Closs' story is "why we can never give up hope on any missing child".
