Detroit Pistons trade Stanley Johnson to Bucks for Thon Maker

The Milwaukee Bucks reportedly tried to acquire shooting guard Rodney Hood from the Cleveland Cavaliers in a deal which would have included big man Thon Maker, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.

The Milwaukee Bucks have acquired New Orleans Pelicans forward Nikola Mirotic in a three-team trade with the Detroit Pistons, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Johnson, 22, is another former lottery pick that has not quite panned out. The Australian has appeared in 35 of Milwaukee's 52 games so far this season, finding himself buried on the bench amongst a crowded and talented Bucks' frontcourt that features the likes of Brook Lopez, Ersan Ilyasova and second-year stand out D.J. Wilson. Johnson is averaging 7.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game in limited minutes-20.0 per game-for Detroit through 48 appearances and seven starts.

Maker has been pushing for a trade from the Milwaukee Bucks despite the team holding the best record in the National Basketball Association. The Montenegro native has averaged at least 10.0 points per game in each of his five seasons and earned All-Rookie honors following his rookie season in 2014-15.

This season, Johnson had been playing with the second unit.

The Bucks and Maker's camp are actively working to find a new home for 2016's No. 10 overall draft pick.

He is making a career-high 2.7 shots from 3-point range per game.

The 76ers added Butler in their first blockbuster trade earlier in the season.
