Hazard and Higuain share footballing language, says Sarri

"This is just what I think, but I know him well. He's an old man [60, meaning experienced] but the way he thinks is the same way I think about football".

The fact that PSG also signed Leandro Paredes during last month's window will help on that score and potentially allow Marco Silva to plan for next season with Gueye in his ranks.

Higuain toiled on loan at AC Milan in the first half of the season, but the Argentina worldwide previously hit 36 Serie A goals in a season for Sarri's Napoli. Real Madrid's interest is the worst kept secret in football, with Hazard thought to be keen on signing for Los Blancos.

"As you have seen in the last match, Eden passed the ball to Gonzalo very often", Sarri told reporters.

"I will be really very happy with him if he will want to stay, because in my opinion he's the best in Europe".

'They speak the same language with the ball, so Gonzalo will be very important for us'.

"If he said that, I think it's because he's going to extend his contract with Chelsea".

The manager also went on to praise the strength of character of his new No.9, noting how he bounced back from hard misses prior to his record-breaking season with Napoli. "In my first season in Naples, he arrived late for the training camp", Sarri added of Higuain. "He missed the penalty in his last Serie A match, he had missed a penalty in the (2015) Copa America final but he reacted very well. He is able to react really well despite the difficulties".

Chelsea do sit fourth in the Premier League table, but look to be involved in a shootout with Manchester United and Arsenal for fourth place.

The Chelsea manager said: "Gonzalo is a great player".

City lead the table on goal difference from Liverpool, with both sides 12 points clear of Chelsea entering this weekend's fixtures.
