Conor McGregor could make UFC return by this summer, says Dana White

The ban ends in April and McGregor could be set for a return by as early as June, with White wanting to make the speculated matchup against Cerrone a reality.

Standard for Cerrone. He has been perhaps the fighter most ready to fight anyone at any time for the past several years.

This means McGregor could fight twice in 2019.

As talk about Conor McGregor and Donald Cerrone fighting fires around the internet, the latter has added a new twist to the speculation...

Lightweight champion Nurmagomedov received a a nine-month suspension and a fine of $500,000 (€437,500) for his part in the brawl but his sentence could be reduced to six months if he participates in an anti-bullying campaign in Nevada. While that was going on, members of Nurmagomedov's team were seen invading the Octagon and exchanging punches with McGregor.

Also punished by the NSAC were two of Nurmagomedov's teammates, Zubaira Tukhugov and Abubakar Nurmagomedov, who were fined $25,000 and suspended for one year.

Of course, Floyd's flirted heavily with the idea in the past ... remember, he teased a possible MMA fight with Conor McGregor just a year ago - even stepping into an actual cage!

We will have to see if "Cowboy" gets his wish. We throw this young killer [Alexander] Hernandez at him, Cowboy's the underdog and he goes in and does it the way he did it... then Conor's fought everybody.

"I was more surprised when called me right after the fight ..." The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and UFC Fight Pass.

White gave no indication when in the summer he would like McGregor and Cerrone to fight, but the fight could headline that show.
