Fortnite reveals Share The Love Valentine's Day event

With the sudden explosion of Apex Legends as the newest entrant in the battle royale scene, it seemed like only a matter of time before Epic announced something new to reign players back in.

A new "Featured Island Frenzy" event will also be taking place from February 12th to 22nd, with a rotating set of featured islands appearing in Fortnite Creative each day.

You can get into a new set of Overtime Challenges when the event starts on February 8, which will give you a bit of extra stuff to do ahead of the delayed Season 8 release date on February 28.

Also included in the update are additional Overtime Challenges, which serve as an extension to the regular 10 weekly challenges. Completing the challenges will unlock five new rewards, such as the Valentine wrap and Vines contrail.

Along with this, Epic has said they will be running two double XP weekends during the event.

Battle Pass owners get even more chances to unlock exclusive loot, with their rewards including new unlockable styles for the Trog, Powder, and Onesie outfits.

Besides this there will be a "Share the Love" Competitive Series which will entail several placement matches being run on the weekend of February 9 and 10 and there will be seeding in this series. Players who already support a creator or submit a creator code during the event will be gifted the free Cuddle Hearts Wrap which you can check out below. "Don't worry, we're keeping track", say Epic.

Fortnite is getting romantic this month in the Share the Love event. Level up your Battle Pass before the season ends! Show your support by jumping into Creative each day and playing with friends. Competition will be separated across four different divisions that will run simultaneously every day, starting with Open Division, moving into Prospect Division, then Contender Division, and finally, Champion Division.

It looks like you'll be able to share the love with a partner in the upcoming "Share the Love" series. Anyone playing during either February 15-17 or February 22-24 will earn bonus XP. Earning a pin during a daily session will promote a player to the next division. The #ShareTheLove event ends on February 27, right before the arrival of Season 8.
