Grammys 2019 run of show: What order are the Grammy Awards presented?

Grammys 2019 run of show: What order are the Grammy Awards presented?

That's in contrast to last year's ceremony, where male acts dominated in nominations and the only woman competing for the top award, Lorde, didn't get a chance to perform onstage.

Drake and Kendrick Lamar have the most nominations this year and both artists could win a Grammy for album of the year, record of the year, or both!

Monae hosted the Friday brunch alongside Instagram to celebrate her Grammy nominations, including album of the year for her groundbreaking release, "Dirty Computer".

This year, five of the eight Album of the Year nominations went to female artists: Cardi B, Carlile, Monae, R&B prodigy H.E.R. and country star Kacey Musgraves.

Carlile is also in the running for three of the top four awards - album of the year, plus record and song of the year - which will be unveiled during tonight's award show (5 p.m., KIRO) where the Seattle-area folk star is also slated to perform.

Among other big names are Lady Gaga, Cardi B, Jennifer Lopez, Camilla Cabello, Mark Ronson, Miley Cyrus, Dua Lipa, St. Vincent, Chloe x Halle and Travis Scott. "I have to say, this is a golden age of composing", Kernis said, shouting out his peers in his acceptance speech.

The lead-up to this year's Grammys has not been completely smooth, though.

If you want to watch the celebrities walk the red carpet, tune in early to watch the live streaming on the official Grammy Awards website, Grammy.com.

"There's great respect that is deserved to women and you will see that live embodied on Sunday". This week Ariana Grande blasted Grammys producer Ken Ehrlich and accused him of lying about why she was no longer performing at the show. He later acknowledged that it was a "poor choice of words", and his much-criticized remarks forced the academy to launch a new task force focused on inclusion and diversity.

On Thursday, Grande broke her silence and shot back at Ehrlich in a series of tweets.

"It was when my creativity & self-expression was stifled by you that i decided not to attend".

Carlile told the AP she stands behind Grande's "decision to stand up for herself and her art".

Monae was also joined by songwriter Linda Perry, the first women nominated for non-classical producer of the year in 15 years and rapper-singer Tierra Whack, who scored a nomination for best music video for her "Mumbo Jumbo".

Alicia Keys, a 15-time Grammy victor, will host this year's broadcast.

Some complained that a black artist should be involved in the tribute, while others said stronger vocalists should perform over Lopez.

"When they don't take home the big prize", he said, "the regard of the academy, and what the Grammys represent, continues to be less meaningful to the hip-hop community, which is sad".
