Liverpool monitoring Leeds United starlet Jack Clarke

Leeds United winger Jack Clarke is receiving treatment in hospital after collapsing during his side's 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough. The teenager was removed from the Leeds bench on a stretcher by paramedics, having had oxygen administered, and taken to hospital, from where he has since been released.

The 18-year-old starred for the U23's before breaking in to the first team set-up last year and Clarke is now an established part of Marcelo Bielsa's squad having featured in each of Leeds' last 13 Championship games.

Meanwhile, Middlesbrough boss Tony Pulis passed on his best wishes to Clarke when he addressed the media.

"Jack spent the night under the supervision of the medical staff from the club and he will return home today".

"He will undergo some more tests this week and everything is looking well, but he won't train for the rest of the week".

The same story says that Klopp recently sent Liverpool FC scouts to keep tabs on Clarke's progress.

The 18-year-old, who will also sit out Wednesday's visit by Swansea City, said: 'I would like to thank everyone for the support and love they have shown, it's massively appreciated'.

While the German can call upon the likes of Harry Wilson and Ryan Kent to bolster his options in attack next season, with the duo impressing in their loan spells away at Derby County and Rangers respectively, Klopp is inclined towards making a move for Clarke when the transfer window opens for business in July.

The attacker was the subject of major interest in January, with clubs such as Manchester United and Tottenham reportedly interested in his signature.
