BET apologises for tweet insulting Nicki Minaj

Following her big Grammy win, Cardi B is getting ready to hit the road again on her new tour. Warning: the Cardi B video contains explicit language.

In a now-deleted video, Cardi was seen speaking to the camera that she did not deserve such harsh criticism and it is not her style to put people down.

Among one of the most anticipated categories of the night was the Best Rap Album of the Year, which was taken home by female rapper, Cardi B, for her Invasion of Privacy album.

Keeping it 100 as always - this is why you keep winning!

Minaj, who's been nominated for 10 Grammys-yet never won-responded by posting a screenshot of BET's tweet on her Twitter feed, which has more than 20 million followers.

In the video, she cried out that it was not her style to bring down a person in the effort to uplift someone else. "I remember last year when I didn't win for 'Bodak Yellow, ' everybody was like, 'Cardi got snubbed, Cardi got snubbed.' Now this year's a fuckng problem?" she said. "Number one album, as well", she added. While the tweet was swiftly deleted, Minaj's fans flooded the network's social media accounts in support of the rapper.

"Slept in the studio on leather sofas for 3 months straight, migraines, in Atlanta in Miami away from my family". We know you're pregnant.

Minaj was not pleased, and today she took to Twitter to publicly pull out of the BET Concert Experience show.

Earlier in the day she announced she was sharing her Grammy Award with late rapper and fellow nominee Mac Miller, after learning his parents, who attended the Grammys to honour their son, were rooting for her.

But no matter what comes next, there is little doubt Cardi from the Bronx will keep building her brand where she began: speaking to her fans directly, and keeping it real. She said, "I been taking a lot of sh*t today".
