Meghan Markle's being vilified the same way Diana was: George Clooney

You have manufactured such unnecessary and unwarranted pain, but by making the choice not to tell the truth as you are puppeteered in this.

"Oh, yes, I'll be the godfather of the royals, apparently", he said with a laugh, clarifying his sarcasm with a big, "No!"

Clooney, a close friend of Markle and husband Prince Harry, warned of "history repeating" itself with the increasingly feverish media attention on the expectant royal couple.

Clooney is a friend of Meghan's and he and his wife, Amal Clooney, attended Meghan and Prince Harry's wedding previous year. We've seen how that ends.

Former Suits actress Meghan, 37, is estranged from her father following a string of high-profile incidents since she became engaged to Harry.

"Women, in particular, are constantly pitted against and compared with each other in a way that reminds me of how people tried to portray Diana and me all the time as rivals, which is something neither of us ever really felt", she said.

Just days before his daughter was due to marry into the royal family, Mr Markle was caught staging paparazzi photos of himself. "We've been told that numerous times by people that know that that was the case".

Thomas Markle has shared the emotional letter Meghan Markle wrote him in August 2018.

They also expressed their concerns for Meghan and her unborn baby.

Samantha Markle labelled her sister a "narcissist" following the release of Meghan's five-page letter to her father.

Reportedly written after her wedding, the letter accuses Thomas of "breaking her heart into a million pieces" before pleading with him to stop lying and speaking to tabloid newspapers without first trying to speak to her.

She goes on to complain that Mr Markle has made no attempt to contact her - and chastises him for falsely telling journalists he is the one who has been shunned - a criticism her father refutes. "She can write all the fake, contrived letters she wants to show off her penmanship but that's all it is".

Harry and Meghan watched a special performance of The Wider Earth, a critically acclaimed theatrical production about the young Charles Darwin's expedition on HMS Beagle.
