Aaron Paul to Star in 'Breaking Bad' Movie as Jesse Pinkman!

Aaron Paul to Star in 'Breaking Bad' Movie as Jesse Pinkman!

The streaming giant has secured first-run rights to the film, with the series' home network AMC airing it second. But Netflix and Breaking Bad have a long history together.

The feature film based on the blockbuster series Breaking Bad will air on both Netflix and AMC, Deadline reported on Wednesday.

Speaking on The Dan Patrick Show, Bryan Cranston (who starred as chemistry teacher turned drugs kingpin Walter White in Breaking Bad) confirmed the Breaking Bad movie is being made.

AMC's Breaking Bad ended its critically acclaimed five-season run with a finale that brought in a series record 10.3 million viewers. Even Gilligan himself acknowledged that when accepting the show's first Emmy for Best Drama.

And now it looks like it will be aired on Netflix, according to Deadline. Not only are we standing up here [with the Emmy], I don't think our show would have even lasted beyond season two. "I can say and announce tonight, in front of your audience - exclusive announcement - that I can confirm that there is a Breaking Bad movie".

Per THR, the film "will follow the escape of a kidnapped man (Paul's Jesse) and his quest for freedom".

While no details have been revealed yet about the plot, the movie's script is being written by Vince Gilligan, the show's creator, and it will most likely focus on Pinkman on the lam and starting out a new life.

Though it hasn't been confirmed officially, Revenge of The Fans claim to have seen the official cast list, and states Bryan Cranston will reprise his role as antihero Walter White, alongside Todd, Badger and Skinny Pete. Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein, both of whom have worked with Gilligan on Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, are on board as producers.

Per the New Mexico Film Office, a film titled "Greenbrier" was scheduled to film in Albuquerque from November to mid-February.
